He Said:
why we have a blog
I guess the first topic to talk about is why we need a blog. I think the word need is to strong of a word and should be used sparingly. I think the reason that Ally and I are writing a blog is two fold. First, I wanted to do it, and second, I wanted to do it. Just kidding. I saw Micah and Melissa’s wedding blog I thought it would be fun to let people see what Ally and I are going through. If we do this right, we will have a he said, she said type feel to it. I think it would be fun for us to each give our perspective of different events leading up to the wedding. I have a feeling this, could be very reveling as to how the two of us think. I am sure we will have very different views on things. Should be fun!
She Said:
So, my brother Micah is engaged. Melissa, his fiancee, decided, like most brides now days to create a blog to record the pre-wedding happenings. Very cute! I forwarded the URL address to Joe to check it out. HE LOVED IT! It was like a whole new world for Joe. Pretty funny, indeed. I'm pretty sure it was an eye-opening experience for him that couples do this. I reminded him that his OWN roommate Jodie and her fiance has a web blog/site as well, but he had no idea. Joe cracks me up! "We need to do that, Mija!" and next thing you know, here we are...
The "He Said, She Said" idea was inspired by a late 80's/early 90's movie with the same title. It's a comedy with Kevin Bacon, and worth the rental fee. Basically it's about a couple who tell their story from each perspective.... and it totally plays on the typical gender stereotypes of how each see each other. Funny stuff!! Check-it-out! But hey, like they say there is three sides to the story, HIS side, Her side, and the truth! By getting both of our perspectives my clue the reader into what really might have happened, plus give Joe and I an opportunity to learn more about each other. Hope this experiment works!

Not to mention that I've had a blog for THREE YEARS. Obviously Joe is not a fan... SIGH.
