Finding the perfect spot

He Said:

Some of you may know that I have a background in Real Estate, and there are only 3 things you need to know about real estate… Location, location, location.

The same should also be said about weddings. I have been told by others that once a location is picked the rest falls into place. I am not going to hold my breath. Who would have thought this would be such an undertaking. Allyson, God bless her soul took it upon herself to find some locations to have the wedding. I have to say she did a good job! All the places we went to were beautiful and I had a good time checking them out except for one, but we won’t talk about Electra cruses. We had an especially good time visiting wineries in Temecula. Not only was the wine flowing freely but we had the company of both of our moms as well. I think we are blessed to live in California there are just so many options it’s actually overwhelming. I am we spent the time to look around at a few places but we didn’t kill ourselves searching endlessly.

She Said:

Even though Joe and I didn't look at too many locations, I do believe it's for the better. To be honest, the more places we went to or received information on, the more confused I became. So many things to weigh; What do the packages include? Am I being nickel and dimed for additions? It costs HOW much?!?! Not to mention a horrible experience in which a wedding coordinator made us wait almost three hours for our appointment (not including arriving early for the meeting) because she was "running behind schedule." Actually, that was a defining moment for me because the patience Joe showed at that location was truly a sign to me that this boy is ready to get married.

I had to checkout the Temecula Wineries. I mean come on, beautiful location and amazing wines! I had a feeling it might be out of our intended budget, but I figured there is only one time in your life you get to look at locations for your wedding, right? So both of our mothers, Stephanie and Beckie, joined us for an afternoon of pre-wedded bliss! Both locations we visited were absolutely amazing, beautiful landscape, and great food and wine. This was also a great experience because it was the first time our mothers spent time together. They had only met once before, at my graduation party, and probably did not spend much time chatting there. Needless to say, they got along famously. Actually, on the way home from Temecula, we were discussing ideas for creating this blog. Even though we did not chose to go with a winery in the end, I am so glad we had an opportunity to explore (and I became a wine club member to one of the wineries we visited!!! heehee).
