Adventures at Sea

He Said:

I will just go a head and say it I am really excited about adventures at sea. After visiting a couple of other options I am confident in our decision to go with this company. The boat we will be married on is quite grand. It is well over a hundred feet long and has 3 decks. It is tough, but I am going to try to limit my description of the boat and leave it as a bit of a surprise to our guests when the step aboard. Allyson and I were fortunate to find this place early in our search. In fact it was the first place we looked at. Allyson actually found the place in a bridal magazine or something like that. To be honest I was actually uninvolved with the initial selections of wedding locations. In my defense, I figured we would be looking at tons of them and no one goes with the first place they look at. I was wrong again. The decision to book our wedding with Adventures at Sea was quickly made after our 2nd meeting with LIZ a representative/ wedding coordinator from Adventures at sea. We were not able to see the ship during our first meeting because she was docked in Long Beach. But on our 2nd meeting with Liz we actually got to board the Endless Dream and see all of her potential. It was also a chance for Allyson and me to make a better assessment of our coordinator Liz. She is a person that we will be working very closely with over the next 6 months and in my mind it was just as important we liked her as it was that we liked the location. Her willingness to be as involved as Allison and I wanted was very reassuring. She has a ton of great ideas but also knows when to back off and let us take things in our own direction. As we were walking off the ship I had decided this is where we were going to get married and Liz was going to help coordinate it. I stopped halfway down the gangplank and told Liz that we don’t want to work with any one else. Over a nice lunch with the ship in the back ground Allyson and I talked it over and rehashed all the pros and cons and agreed that we would look at a few other places but we both knew this was where we were getting married.

She Said:

We found it! We found it! We found it! YeAAAh! Okay, so I fell in love with the idea of getting married on a yacht that cruises through the harbor, the minute I read about it in a wedding location magazine. Joe had actually heard from a couple of people at his work about this type of wedding too, and liked the idea. So we made some appointments to get a better idea. Sure enough I fell in love with the first place we went and I hadn't even seen the boat yet!! Just the fabulous costumer service, the packages to choose from, and the unlimited options given. I was amazed. I always thought of myself getting married on the beach, but this idea of Joe and I on a boat cruising through the harbor, during sunset no less, was starting to put my ol' dream to rest. Joe and I left Adventures at Sea feeling both confident and excited. But we did not want to make a quick decision, we needed to look elsewhere.

Meanwhile view other locations, in my mind, still thinking of the yacht charter, but trying desperately to keep an open mind. We did however make an appointment with Adventures at Sea to visit the actual yacht we would have the wedding on (if we choose to), currently docked in the Long Beach Harbor. The yacht, "Endless Dreams" is nothing short of breathtaking! It's huge! 140 feet to be exact. When you are on it, you do not feel like you are on a boat, it feels like giant rooms with a fabulous view. Check out the link posted to the right under the title "location." It offers a picture of the boat (doesn't do it justice) and a photo gallery of inside the boat. So, Joe and I were getting the tour of the boat, and I just felt SO giddy! It just felt right. I wondered what Joe was thinking, but I was clued into what questions he was asking about it, and from that I felt pretty confident that he was liking the idea too!

After the visit, Joe and I discussed "Endless Dreams' over lunch. Yup, my hunch was right, he loved it too! One thing I love about Joe is his confidence in his decisions. He just said, "Alright, let's do it." My mind- Wow, that was easy, a little too easy. And typical response from me was just like repeating all the reasons I think it's a good idea. This is something I believe Joe and I have learned about each other. He has learned just to let me talk it out and explain to him (really myself) why I want to make the decision; and I have learned to not badger Joe to talk more about it, he truly did just make his decision and doesn't need to process it aloud. So, that's pretty much how it went that lunch. He was ready to sign some papers, and I talked about how ready I was to sign some papers!!
